Further education as competitive advantage
An increasing number of working professionals nowadays want to pursue a degree or just acquire new skills without interrupting their career. Lifelong learning is an essential part of an actively planed personal and professional development. We offer educational opportunities that will bring you up to date to the newest topics in the field of computer aided engineering (CAE) while enabling you to stay in your job.
BSH focuses on part-time training for outsourcing, too.
Just under 1 million ovens and cooktops leave the BSH – short for Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH - production plant in Traunreut, Bavaria, each year. The development and production site does not only meet the very latest demands for ergonomic workplaces but also sets new standards when it comes to energy and resource consumption. With over two thousand employees, this BSH plant, now over sixty years old, proves it is possible to successfully develop and produce household appliances for the European market in Germany.
BSH´s top position as an attractive employer is also attested by the Corporate Research Foundation (CRF), an institution that assesses which companies throughout Germany offer the best working conditions. BSH was placed in the top group, ranked fourth as one of the most attractive employers for engineers in a group of around a hundred qualifi ed companies, and was presented with the Top German Employer Certifi cate 2011 (Top-Arbeitgeber Deutschland 2011). The household appliance manufacturer attained 4.5 out of 5 stars in four of the five categories examined. “Our goal is to recruit the most suitable candidates for employment at BSH, and offer them a working environment where they can develop their skills and work with commitment according to their individual qualities and perspectives – not only for a limited time but for their whole working life,” says Joachim Ries, head of the BSH HR Department.
“The esocaet program is an excellent example of this concept, as it consists in a part-time master´s degree course to work towards a Master of Engineering,” comments Dan Neumayer, in charge of simulation at the BSH oven department. BSH used the esocaet program to train engineers from BSH’s outsourcing partner CADFEM India. BSH hired two students from India, Chandra Sekhar Kattamuri, who was employed at BSH in Traunreut from 2007 to 2009 and Krishna Chaitanya Kusupudi, a BSH Traunreut staff member from 2008 until 2010, who both successfully completed the “Applied Computational Mechanics” master study course during these two years.
