Since its foundation 26 years ago, the Landshut University of Applied Sciences has kept the quality of teaching in the foreground. A manageable size of about 2,600 students and 70 professors proves to be a clear advantage: Landshut University of Applied Sciences is a university of short distances.

Above all, this clear size allows an intense care and a closer relation between students and lecturers than it is possible at a mass university. The attraction of the campus and of the entire university strikes at first sight. Additionally, the "inner values" should not be disregarded. Landshut University of Applied Sciences is equipped excellently: whether in the nationwide unique library with 24-hours-lending, in very well equipped technical laboratories or in the computer centre - students can concentrate on their studies in an ideal environment and expand their knowledge individually in addition to their lectures and seminars.

There is a close cooperation between the university and BMW, MAN (utility vehicles), and numerous medium-sized suppliers. The light weight construction sector is steadily increasing in importance in the industry. In 2001 BMW donated a professorship in light weight construction to Landshut University of Applied Sciences. Special lightweight materials and lightweight constructions are being developed and tested in the centre of competence for light weight construction.
