Simulation Based Engineering / Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)

Simulation based engineering is the consistent use of simulation throughout the product development process - from initial analysis of the first concept ideas to the continuous review and improvement of product properties in various stages of development until the optimization of machine processing or other alternative studies. The use of FEM (finite element method) or CFD (computational fluid dynamics) began several years ago, especially in the aerospace sector, the automotive industry and in civil engineering, so nowadays the methods have been established in almost all industrial sectors as well as in other applications such as medicine. Current methods make it possible to simulate entire systems and to examine complete products in realistic high-pressure scenarios in advance.

Simulations help us gain a holistic understanding of the product and answer a key question: Can the product fulfill what it promised to the customer?
